Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, is a Black 16" x 20" historic print titled “City point at the confluence of the Appomattox with the James River, headquarters of the armies operating against Richmond.” SKU sku-13291310440; UPC 461336610255. The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online buyers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced prints inexpensive.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The reproductions use fine-art and archival papers. Prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last a lifetime and be passed down.

The range also includes retro holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
