Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13287853088

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, is listed as sku-13287853088, UPC 468598045955. This 16" x 20" historic print shows Christie MacDonald facing front in a half-length portrait, wearing artificial birds on her hat and dress. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from the Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online buyers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

The prints use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. The company also offers old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work, or as gifts. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

In 1989, the Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project; that work laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections documenting American cultural heritage.
