Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, L | sku-13292257107

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, is a 16" x 20" reproduction print showing children jumping rope on the White House lawn during the annual Easter egg roll, with the State, War and Navy building in the background. SKU: sku-13292257107. UPC: 469585322967. The company's prints reproduce historical maps, photographs and posters restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

The prints use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced posters possible. In 1989, the Library of Congress began the American Memory pilot project, which laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program launched in 1995. That program digitizes selected collections about American cultural history.

The company's other reproductions include old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco; they can be displayed at home or work or given as gifts.
