No rating yet(0 ratings)Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13277358519, UPC 468058101375, is a Black, size L reproduction print measuring 16" x 20". The historic print is titled "Centenaire de la lithographie . Galerie Rapp, Champ de mars . Octobre-Novembre 1895. P. Puvis de Chavannes." The company's historical maps, photographs and posters are reproduced from images restored from the Library of Congress archives.
Its prints use archival paper and pigmented inks, intended to last a lifetime and be passed down through generations. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers.
It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796 and enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history.
The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The reproductions can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
