Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13421566084

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art item sku-13421566084 is a Black, size L reproduction print of the Carlisle Indian School in Carlisle, Pa., measuring 18" x 24". UPC: 469593449984. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

In 1989, the Library of Congress launched the American Memory pilot project, which laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program begun in 1995. That program digitizes selected Library collections focused on the complexity of American cultural heritage.

The reproduction prints use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last a lifetime and be passed down through generations.
