Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Print L sku-13233321831

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13233321831, UPC 466318499156, is a Black, size L historic print showing the Canyon of the American River near Colfax, with Jehovah Gap in the distance, in Placer County. The print measures 16" x 20". The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives on archival paper with pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796, making inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural history. The brand also offers vintage holiday posters and early aerial city views as wall art or gifts.
