Snapshots of the Past Fresno Map Wall Art L sku-13312100969

This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art is a Black, size L reproduction of a 1901 map of Fresno, CA, measuring 16" x 20". The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives for home decor. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The reproduction prints use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home, in a study or at work, or as gifts. UPC 464464440039; SKU sku-13312100969.
