The company, founded in 2001, reproduces historical maps, photographs, and prints from Library of Congress archives on archival paper with pigmented inks. It says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints, has supplied over 200 bookstores and other retailers as well as tens of thousands of online customers, and was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Its wider collection includes old Halloween, Mother's Day, and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco, offered as decor or gifts. Lithography, an early method for mass-producing prints, was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.
