Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L | sku-13288120145

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L: a 16 x 20 historic print of a bird's-eye view of Washburn & Moone Manufacturing Co. in Worcester, Mass. The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last for generations.

The range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home, in a study or at work, or as gifts. SKU: sku-13288120145. UPC: 467923145575.
