Snapshots of the Past Hartford Wall Art L sku-13297762488

This Black, size L Wall Art from Snapshots of the Past reproduces a bird's-eye view of Hartford, Connecticut, from the Capitol after snowfall. The historic print measures 16" x 20". The company makes reproductions of maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced prints inexpensive.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage. These reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The collection includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, and retro-style prints for homes, studies or workplaces. They can also be given as gifts. SKU sku-13297762488; UPC 465820532184.
