Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13292007095

This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print depicts the Bernalillo County Court House in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It measures 16 x 20 inches and is listed as Black, size L. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using fine-art and archival paper with pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

The company's background notes that lithography was invented in 1796 and made inexpensive mass-produced posters possible. A 1989 Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history.

Its range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. These retro-style prints are offered for display at home or work and as gifts. SKU sku-13292007095; UPC 465226520167.
