The company, founded in 2001, restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives.

It says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper with pigmented inks.

The range includes old holiday posters, early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, and retro-style prints for display at home or work or as gifts.
