Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art | sku-13280163805

Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art in size L, sku-13280163805, UPC 466665106578, reproduces a historic image of the 1904 Baltimore fire at Pratt and Light Sts. The print measures 16" x 20" and is made with archival paper and pigmented inks. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from the Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers; it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections related to American cultural history. The company's archival prints are intended to last for generations.

Its other subjects include holiday posters and early aerial views of major cities, which can be displayed at home or at work or given as gifts.
