Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L (SKU sku-13249772226; UPC 463849892470), is a 16" x 20" historic print showing a full-length portrait of Audrey Hepburn seated at Idlewild Airport, facing left and holding her dog, Assam. The company's historical maps, photos and prints are reproductions restored from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of Internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Printing methods made inexpensive mass production of posters possible; lithography was invented in 1796. In 1989, the Library of Congress launched a pilot project called American Memory, which laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program that began in 1995. The program digitizes selected Library collections focused on the complexity of American cultural heritage. The reproduction prints use fine art and archival paper from respected industry brands. Prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks can last a lifetime and be passed down through generations. The company's retro-style offerings include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. They can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
