Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art L sku-13234800864

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art sku-13234800864, UPC 466645322806, is a Black, size L reproduction print titled "Asheville, N.C." It measures 16 x 20 inches. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives, then reproduces them on archival paper with pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers; it was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008.

The source also describes the history behind such prints: lithography was invented in 1796, the Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989, and the National Digital Library Program began in 1995. That program digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The company's archival paper and inks are intended to let prints be kept for generations.

Its range includes historical posters and early aerial city views for display at home or work, or as gifts.
