Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print sku-13277308901

This Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art print, size L, reproduces an Art week poster dated Nov. 25 to Dec. 1, 1940, with the words “Buy American art.” Its listed dimensions are 16" x 20". The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers; it was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008. The listing notes that lithography was invented in 1796 and that the Library of Congress American Memory pilot project began in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995.

The program digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Other prints in the range include holiday posters and early aerial views of cities. SKU: sku-13277308901. UPC: 462130384311.
