Snapshots of the Past sku-13245358136, UPC 463704816627, is Black Wall Art in size L: a 16" x 20" historical print titled "Antietam Maryland. Lt. Col. Charles B. Norton at headquarters of Gen. Fitz-John Por." The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of posters possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history.

The company's retro-style prints include holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, and are presented as decor or gifts.
