The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced posters inexpensive.

A Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections focused on American cultural history. The company's reproductions also include old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, intended for display or as gifts.
