Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L print sku-13425701738

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13425701738, is a Black, size L reproduction print (UPC 469976518979). The 18" x 24" image shows the front elevation and plumbing section for alterations to an N.L. Sansbury Co., Inc. office building at 1418 I Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of poster prints possible. In 1989, the Library of Congress began the American Memory pilot project, which laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program launched in 1995. That program digitizes selected Library collections focused on the complexity of American cultural heritage.

The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last a lifetime and be passed down through generations.
