Snapshots of the Past 1887 Map Wall Art L sku-13343455794

This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art is a Black, size L reproduction of an 1887 map of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, measuring 16 x 20 inches. It is part of a range of historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. The company was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural heritage. The prints use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks, intended to last a lifetime and be passed down.

The range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. They can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts. SKU sku-13343455794; UPC 467516167885.
