This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print, sku-13283156137, UPC 462040717568, is a Black, size L reproduction measuring 16" x 20". It depicts A visitor in the morning sky, an impression of Halley's Comet in the early morning heavens with Venus and the decrescent moon. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

Lithography was invented in 1796 and enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.

These reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. The range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home or work or as gifts.
