Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, Black, size L, SKU sku-13254574752, UPC 469730786576. This 16" x 20" reproduction depicts A Rake's Progress: The First Step, in which an old widow offers him a mug of pumpkin wine. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives for home display.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The collection also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
