Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Print L sku-13272718459

Snapshots of the Past offers this historic print, "A great fire in New-York," at 16" x 20". Listed as Black Wall Art in size L, it is a reproduction of an archival image; the company restores historical maps, photos and prints from the Library of Congress for home decor. Founded in 2001, the company says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass-produced prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. These prints use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of cities, offered for display or as gifts. SKU: sku-13272718459. UPC: 465369153345.
