Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art, sku-13268569658 Print

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art is a Black, size L reproduction print of 652 Saint Francis Street (House), Mobile, Mobile County, AL, measuring 16" x 20". SKU sku-13268569658; UPC 464994241434. The company, founded in 2001, was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.

Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Its home decor range includes historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

The company uses respected brands of fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last a lifetime and be passed down through generations. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of poster prints possible.

In 1989, the Library of Congress began the American Memory pilot project, which laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program begun in 1995. That program digitizes selected Library collections focused on the complex history of American cultural heritage.

Other prints include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. Retro-style posters can decorate a home, study or workplace and serve as conversation pieces or gifts.
