Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13323018144 Print

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art (sku-13323018144, UPC 468008961332) is a Black, size L reproduction print of the 1100 Block Meridian Street commercial area in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama. The print measures 16 x 20 inches. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives for home decor.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers; it was selected as a vendor for a White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, a technique that made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible, was invented in 1796. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections of American cultural heritage.

The company uses archival paper and pigmented inks, describes its prints as suitable for passing down through generations, and also offers historical posters and aerial views as decor or gifts.
