Snapshots of the Past L Framed Wall Art sku-5282753995

Snapshots of the Past sku-5282753995 is a Black, size L framed print in Wall Art, UPC 469331119032. It depicts Washburn-Crosby Co.'s flour mills in Buffalo, N.Y., and measures 17-7/8" x 21-7/8". The company's historical maps, photos and prints are reproductions restored from Library of Congress archives, made with archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of poster prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history.

The company's range also includes vintage holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
