Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L photo sku-5319113984

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-5319113984, UPC 465959884468, is a Black, size L framed reproduction of a 1919 photo of Spokane, WA, from Sacred Heart Hospital. The listed dimensions are 36-3/8" x 8-3/8". The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives for home decor.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The company uses fine-art and archival paper for its reproductions.

It says prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks can last a lifetime and be passed down. Its other subjects include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The prints are intended for homes, studies and workplaces and can be given as gifts.
