Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Print L sku-5231125851

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art sku-5231125851, UPC 464703442053, is a Black framed print in size L. Its subject is "School girls in sewing class," and it measures 17-7/8 by 21-7/8 inches. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make mass-produced prints inexpensive.

A 1989 Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last for generations.

Other subjects include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The prints can be displayed at home or work or given as gifts.
