Snapshots of the Past Framed Wall Art L, sku-5226532720

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L (sku-5226532720; UPC 467605938983). This framed print shows school children of the 6th Division in a horse-drawn car and measures 17-7/8" x 21-7/8". The company reproduces historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include more than 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The reproductions use fine-art and archival papers with pigmented inks.

The collection also includes holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, suitable for display at home or work or as gifts.
