Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Lithography, a printing technique that enabled inexpensive mass production of posters, was invented in 1796. The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural heritage.

The company's reproductions also include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. They can be displayed at home or at work or given as gifts.
