Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of Internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced posters possible. The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural heritage.

The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. The company's collection also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. Its retro-style posters are offered for homes, studies and workplaces, or as gifts.
