Snapshots of the Past Framed Wall Art L sku-5286909404

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-5286909404, UPC 467832104366, is a Black framed print in size L titled Farmer Garfield: Cutting a swath to the White House. It measures 17-7/8" x 21-7/8". The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives using archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints; its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

A Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history. The company's range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
