Snapshots of the Past L Framed Wall Art sku-5232541629

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, in Black: a framed reproduction of an E. Spencer Pratt head-and-shoulders portrait, facing left, measuring 17-7/8" x 21-7/8". The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives, using fine art and archival paper. Prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last a lifetime and be passed down.

Founded in 2001, the company was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

Lithography was invented in 1796 and made inexpensive mass production of prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage.

The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts. SKU sku-5232541629; UPC 465431389726.
