Snapshots of the Past Framed Wall Art L sku-5282406680

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art listing sku-5282406680, UPC 463809456629, is a Black, size L framed reproduction print of an E.B. Frost image measuring 17-7/8 by 21-7/8 inches. The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. These prints use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks, which the company says can last for generations.

Its range also includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, for display at home or work or as gifts.
