Snapshots of the Past Black L Greeting Cards sku-5283711080

This Snapshots of the Past historic framed print depicts a Christmas card with Pala script from the 11th Century A.D. It measures 17-7/8" x 21-7/8" and is listed as Black, size L, under Greeting Cards. The company's reproductions draw on Library of Congress maps, photographs and prints and use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last a lifetime and be passed down.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass-produced prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections documenting American cultural history. The company's reproductions also include old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, offered for display or as gifts.
