Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art, size L, sku-5236381624, UPC 466492757196, is a framed reproduction of Annals of the United States illustrated. The pioneers, no. 4. Simon Butler. It measures 17-7/8" x 21-7/8". The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible. A 1989 Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural heritage. The prints use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The collection includes vintage Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, as well as early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. These retro-style prints are offered for homes, studies, workplaces or as gifts.
