Cardboard cutout of a Netherlands Windmill standing 80x47 inches. Worldwide, windmills are known as iconic Dutch symbols of their culture. About 1,200 windmills of historical significance survive, most of which are polder mills or gristmills. The windmill in particular is the Monster De Vier which was built in 1882. It's a flour mill. The build was needed to replace a previous wooden mill that has burnt out. There are records of a mill being in the same location as early as 1311.Image used is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 Generic license.
