Anhydrous oxalic acid is a white crystalline substance that easily sublimes as it loses water of crystallization in dry air or when heated. Initial sublimation begins at 100, sublimation increases at 125, and becomes massive at 157, after which decomposition starts. The accurate temperature readout enables more exact dosing of oxalic acid so beekeepers can treat hive mites more effectively.
