Its family mission, attributed to founder's father Rupert Stephens, is "to always leave the earth better than we found it." The Eco Pac uses 68% less packaging than a cardboard box. The stated savings are 942 tons of paperboard, compared with 157 full-grown elephants; 2.4 million gallons of water, compared with 177 swimming pools; and 15 million BTU's of energy, compared with powering 73,313 lightbulbs for an hour.

These are environmental impact estimates from the Environmental Defense Paper Calculator version 3.23 at www.papercalculator.org. For product concerns, Nature's Path asks customers to send the emptied bag with its freshness code to Consumer Services, c/o Nature's Path Foods, #275-250 H St., Blaine, WA 98230 USA, or use www.naturepath.com/contact-us.
