International Atomic Energy Agency sku-5283650093 Book

This hardcover All Books publication from the International Atomic Energy Agency, sku-5283650093, covers national safeguards infrastructure for countries introducing nuclear power. A government undertaking a nuclear power programme needs a commitment to safe, secure and peaceful use, supported by sustainable national infrastructure.

That includes safeguards for the State system of accounting for and control of nuclear material (SSAC). The IAEA's Milestones Approach helps Member States plan infrastructure development in phases; safeguards is one of its 19 infrastructure issues.

The book gives guidance and references for safeguards activities across the three development phases, along with case studies of how different countries built safeguards infrastructure for their nuclear power programmes.
