The Eighteen Sound 18ID200-2 is an 18-inch neodymium subwoofer engineered for ultra-high SPL and clean low-frequency reproduction, even in tightly sized enclosures. It was developed using extensive FEA and fluid-dynamics testing to maximize heat dissipation and optimize airflow in the gap while avoiding audible noise. A low-density air diffractor integrated into the heatsink improves cooling, raising power handling and reducing power compression. The driver’s large-displacement suspension is matched to a composite fiber-reinforced, straight-ribbed cone. Double Silicon Spider (DSS) technology maintains moving-mass control with high linearity and long-term stability of mechanical parameters; the BL force factor and other electro-dynamic parameters remain linear across the operating range. Recommended amplification is a Class D or iPal tm amplifier capable of delivering 3600 Watt program power without clipping on 2ohms loads.
