The 12MB710 is a very high sensitivity 100dB 1W/1m midbass driver built for high power handling. It is suitable as a bass/mid driver in compact 2-way reflex enclosures or as a dedicated midrange for direct-radiating or horn-loaded roles in multi-way touring and fixed-install concert and arena systems. The diaphragm is a curvilinear paper cone made from a special high-strength wood pulp, engineered to maintain linearity across the intended frequency band while damping cone-edge (bell-mode) resonances. Suspension is a multiroll design made from a linen-like material to resist aging and fatigue better than conventional materials. A state-of-the-art 75 mm diameter copper voice coil uses Interleaved Sandwich Voice coil (ISV) technology to produce an extremely linear motor with reduced tendency toward eccentric behavior under heavy drive. Performance is further improved by Single Demodulating Rings (SDR), which significantly lower intermodulation and harmonic distortion and enhance transient response. The magnetic assembly was optimized with FEA CAD resources to maximize flux density in the voice coil gap and improve cooling. An exclusive water-repellent treatment has been applied to the cone.
