Unbranded World Percussion Djembe Drum sku-18341366061

This Unbranded World Percussion djembe drum, sku-18341366061, UPC 741050925683, is designed for drum circles. The hand-carved, goblet-shaped body is hollowed from a section of mahogany to aid resonance and sound transmission. Its sheepskin head may have natural spots and pores.

The djembe originated in the Manding culture of West Africa thousands of years ago and is part of traditional African music and dance. Striking the edge produces a crisp, high-pitched tone; striking the center produces a mellow mid-pitched tone; and a forceful strike produces a deep, low-pitched tone. Playing methods include single tones, compound patterns and rhythms such as Samba and Reggae.
