Digital Yacht ZDIGIAISTX AIS Boating | sku-491208800

Digital Yacht ZDIGIAISTX is a Black, Unisex Boating product: the iAISTX Class B wireless AIS transponder. SKU: sku-491208800; UPC: 703791696123. In the US, the FCC requires units sold to be programmed by a qualified technician. At purchase, submit a completed programming form signed by the vessel master or owner, with a copy of the MMSI registration or FCC Ship Station License. The product listing offers a form to download. Designed for boaters navigating with an iPad or Android tablet, the transponder sends the boat's position and identity to other AIS-equipped vessels. Its password-protected local Wi-Fi network sends received AIS and GPS data to iOS and Android apps including Navionics, iSailor, Weather4D, SailGrib, iNavX and TimeZero. Compatible apps can display nearby AIS targets in real time; depending on the app, selecting a target shows its identity and collision-avoidance data such as CPA and TCPA. The wireless interface also works with phones and PCs, supports UDP and TCP/IP, and connects up to 7 devices. It supports ATONs and AIS MOB devices and uses HF AIS technology. The internal Wi-Fi antenna will typically cover a boat up to 60ft long. The boat's identity and dimensions are entered once through an embedded web interface in a tablet browser. That interface also controls transmission silencing and wireless settings. Installation requires 12/24v power, the supplied external GPS antenna with its 10m (33ft) cable, and either a dedicated VHF antenna or an existing antenna used with an SPL1500 or SPL2000 AIS-VHF splitter. The GPS antenna can be deck-mounted or fitted to a standard 1" mount. For AIS data on an MFD chart plotter, Digital Yacht recommends the iAISTX Plus, which adds an NMEA 2000 interface. LED indicators show wireless connection, data, status, time out, power and silent mode. The unit measures 20 x 14 x 4.5cm, operates at 12/24V and consumes 2W. Box dimensions are 4"H x 9"W x 13"L; listed weight is 2.65 lbs. UPC: 703791696123.
