unknown Deafheaven LP sku-15822715567 075678601378

This indie-exclusive LP of Deafheaven's Lonely People with Power is listed under Rock Music: Vinyl Records with brand unknown (sku-15822715567, UPC 075678601378). The listing describes the record as a return to black metal roots after the mostly dream-pop sound, airy guitars and clean singing of 2021's Infinite Granite.

Growled and shrieked vocals and overdriven riffs return, sometimes with a symphonic feel. "Magnolia" pairs chugging riffs with pounding drums; "The Garden Route" and "Body Behavior" mix shrieks with melodic guitars and more progressive structures. "Heathen" moves between chant-like vocals, atmospheric guitars and heavier passages, while "Amethyst" builds toward a soaring climax.

Boy Harsher's Jae Matthews and Interpol's Paul Banks appear on interludes: Matthews' cries give way to noise and screaming, and Banks recites poetry over a shifting soundscape. "Winona" combines triumphant riffs, heavy drums and raw vocals. The AllMusic review regards the album as bringing elements of Infinite Granite into Deafheaven's usual sound and considers it one of their strongest records.
