Transcolonial Maghreb: Imagining Palestine in the Era of Decolonization is a hardcover listed under Olivia C Harrison in Fiction Novels. The book examines how Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian writers have addressed the Palestinian question and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict over the past fifty years. Harrison argues that Palestine has come to represent colonialism in a purportedly postcolonial present, and examines political and aesthetic exchanges across North Africa and the Middle East. The works discussed include writing by Abdellatif Laâbi, Kateb Yacine, Ahlam Mosteghanemi, Albert Memmi, Abdelkebir Khatibi, Jacques Derrida and Edmond El Maleh. The materials span theater, literary magazines, television series, feminist texts, novels, essays, unpublished manuscripts, letters and pamphlets, many unavailable in English translation. They were written in Arabic, French and Berber. The study considers what these works mean for transcolonial relations across the Global South.
