Sari Nusseibeh The Story of Reason in Islam sku-53719759

In The Story of Reason in Islam, Sari Nusseibeh traces how Islamic reasoning developed alongside faith. He examines schools of thought and philosophical questions across science, language, poetry and law, and revisits familiar accounts of Muslim philosophers. In his telling, Reason reached its height in the early seventeenth century before giving way to passive belief, rigid logic and legalism.

He considers the changing fortunes of classical Arabic and suggests that renewing the language may help bring change. This hardcover is listed under Religion & Religious Studies Books. SKU: sku-53719759.
