Cooper has made tires in the United States for almost 100 years. Founded in 1914 as M&M Manufacturing Company in Akron, Ohio, it first made tire patches, cement and repair kits.

In 1920, the company acquired Giant Tire & Rubber Company, moved its headquarters to Findlay, Ohio, and began making tires. The all-season Discoverer SRX is designed for CUVs and SUVs, with a focus on tread life, ride comfort and tire efficiency.

Its 3-D micro-gauge dimple sipes increase tread contact for grip, while an optimized 5-rib pattern distributes the load across the contact patch for treadwear, responsiveness and handling. The winter edge design increases the tread area available for snow grip and is intended to improve snow and ice traction. Angled traction grooves expel water to improve wet grip and reduce hydroplaning.

The tire is Mud & Snow rated (M+S). Tread-life warranties are 75,000 miles for T-rated sizes, 70,000 miles for H-rated sizes and 65,000 miles for V/S-rated sizes.
