The glass features double-sided, multi-layered coatings that are anti-oil, anti-dust and anti-soil, and the surface is scratch- and water-resistant. This circular CPL removes unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass, and it enhances color and contrast—commonly used to boost contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. The filter arranges and filters directionally polarized light perpendicular to reflected light, allowing much of that light to be absorbed. It also reduces haze in distant landscapes, yielding more saturated, vivid colors; the effect is strongest when used at a 90° angle from the sun.
