Slim aluminum construction minimizes vignetting while still allowing full rotation for level adjustments. A textured, nonslip upper rim makes mounting, turning and removal simple and secure. Both faces of the glass are treated with multi-layer, double-sided coatings that resist oil, dust, soil and water and provide scratch protection. This circular polarizing (CPL) filter cuts unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water and glass and boosts color and contrast. It’s frequently used to deepen blues and increase saturation in skies and clouds, and it reduces haze in distant landscapes to yield more vivid, saturated tones. CPLs work by arranging and filtering directionally polarized light at right angles to reflected light so much of that light is absorbed — the effect is strongest when the filter is used at a 90° angle from the sun.
